Presentation: Resilient Lateral Connections for Structural Steel Construction
Description: Life safety has historically governed building structural design. New research, technology and product innovation has allowed products, such as Yield-Link Moment Connection and Yield-Link Brace Connection, with replaceable structural fuses to enter the market place. This course will outline the development, testing, design, and benefits of structural steel connections with Yield-Link replaceable fuses.

Structural Steel Specialist at Simpson Strong-Tie
Bio: Katherine Quigg has more than 10 years of experience in the structural steel industry. She brought her expertise to Simpson-Strong Tie in 2021 to support the growth of their new line of structural steel products. Katherine supports design professionals, fabricators, and erectors in design, specification, fabrication and installation of Simpson Strong-Tie's structural steel products. Previously Katherine was with the American Institute of Steel Construction educating and supporting design professionals and providing technical assistance. She started her career managing capital improvement projects in an integrated steel production facility where she gained extensive experience working with steel fabricators and erectors. Katherine is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois. She received her B.S. in Civil Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and a Masters in Structural Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology
