12:00 PM - 1:30 PM CDT
Greetings ACEC/MN members,
Please join us for another great Risk Management Committee meeting on April 18th, 12-1:30PM at ACEC/MN's St. Paul Office, located at 30 East 7th Street, St. Paul, MN 55101. This meeting will be held in the First Floor Training Center Board Room. We'll be announcing our topic shortly, so please stay tuned.
Please feel free to register through this page and you will be added to the calendar notice for the committee meeting.
For our April meeting, our topic will be Understanding ESG: Implications for Design Firms in a Changing Landscape, a program tailored for ACEC Minnesota engineering firms seeking to navigate the complexities of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria. This session is designed to provide clarity and insight into a topic that, despite its growing importance, remains clouded by misconceptions and misinformation. We will begin by addressing common confusions surrounding ESG, followed by an exploration of the factors propelling its emergence. Our discussion will cover the essentials of ESG, the associated risks, and the current state of regulatory and market environments. Additionally, we will highlight the significance of ESG for design firms, taking into account the recent SEC climate disclosure laws and the potential challenges they may face. The program will conclude with practical steps for aligning your business model with ESG principles in a market that is both fluid and increasingly influenced by political dynamics. This is an opportunity to better understand the ESG movement and prepare your firm for the realities of a shifting policy and regulatory landscape.
If you have suggestions for topics or speakers for future Risk Management Committee meetings, please feel free to reach out by email to john@acecmn.org, or bring your great ideas to our meeting.
Thank you members, hope to see you there.
